SALT - Sweetener or Irritant?

Salt – Sweetener or Irritant?

h. lena jones

In today's world

No one wants to "hurt" another's feelings!

I say, "Come on, folks...get with it!

Cauterize those feelings!

Demand God's Truth!

The time to deny self is now.

We are not here to serve ourselves

We are here to serve and obey the One True God

With His Truth...yes, this can sometimes hurt!

When self gets in the way,

God's Truth and purpose are not only denied

But can also feel like salt in open wounds!

Well, here is some encouraging news:

Salt can be a sweetener or it can be an irritant!

Either way SALT is good

If the Truth of what it represents is heeded!

Jesus says in Luke 14:34:

"Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour,

wherewith shall it be seasoned?"

1 John 3:13 states:

"Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you."

So to all pastors and preachers of God's Holy Word

Preach His Truth...in season and out of season!

If it stings...that's good…it’s working

For the sweetness of its sting

Will eventually be appreciated

By the stingee!

Be Blessed....Be Comforted!

REMEMBER: ALWAYS SEEK TO CONFORM YOUR WILL TO GOD'S WILL:

My beloved Mom went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2011. Each passing day brings me heavenly strength and deeper understanding as my walk with the Lord is renewed. Conforming my will to His is paramount now. This is the depth of learning I have gleaned as I struggled for understanding regarding the tragic loss of my beloved Mom.

"Loving Heavenly Father, The need for Your favour, compassion, and healing-touch is great among Your children. I have come to realize that sometimes You choose not to answer some requests because it is not Your Will for that particular person. So Father, in the precious name of Jesus, I humbly ask for our will and the will of those for whom we pray, to be conformed to Yours so that we can be comforted, encouraged, and reassured that Your perfect Will will be done for those whose prayer needs are brought before Your Throne of Grace. You are in total control, Father, for You see the bigger picture: we are but aliens here, limited in understanding of Your perfect will. Please help us, I ask humbly in the precious name of Jesus. Amen."

"And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His Will, He heareth us." 1 John 5:14
