Intercessory Prayers

Intercessory Prayers and Prayer Request Support

OH! Don't Know What To Do or Say?

Jesus says in Matthew 6:5-13:

·         When thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

·         But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

·         But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do; for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him.

·         After this manner therefore pray ye:

o   Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed by they name

o   Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven

o   Give us this day our daily bread

o   And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors

o   And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever, Amen.

When you pray – Give Thanks and Praise:

“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:18-19)

“And above all these things, put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (Colossians 3:14-17)

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6, 7)

“Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17,18)

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (Romans 8:26)

My beloved Mom went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2011. Each passing day brings me heavenly strength and deeper understanding as my walk with the Lord is renewed. Conforming my will to His is paramount now. This is the depth of learning I have gleaned as I struggled for understanding regarding the tragic loss of my beloved Mom.

"Loving Heavenly Father, The need for Your favour, compassion, and healing-touch is great among Your children. I have come to realize that sometimes You choose not to answer some requests because it is not Your Will for that particular person. So Father, in the precious name of Jesus, I humbly ask for our will and the will of those for whom we pray, to be conformed to Yours so that we can be comforted, encouraged, and reassured that Your perfect Will will be done for those whose prayer needs are brought before Your Throne of Grace. You are in total control, Father, for You see the bigger picture: we are but aliens here, limited in understanding of Your perfect will. Please help us, I ask humbly in the precious name of Jesus. Amen."

"And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His Will, He heareth us." 1 John 5:14
